Job Characteristics Must be a Certified Building Plans Examiner and hold a valid Utah inspection license as a Limited or a Combination Building Inspector with 2 years experience in school construction. This is a working level inspector responsible for inspections of school construction projects which may include inspections of manufactured relocatable classroom facilities. Performs quality review and compliance auditing of required public school construction inspection reports and reviews provided by school districts and charter schools. Visits school construction sites to provide quality control review for compliance with applicable state and federal laws, administrative rules and building codes. Reviews qualifications, certifications and licensure of individuals employed to assure compliance with the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing and reports findings to the appropriate state agencies when violations are identified. Prepares school construction inspection audit reports with findings and management letters. Provides professional development training for school district and charter school building officials, officers and other facilities construction, operations and maintenance personnel regarding school construction and inspection processes. Is a school construction and inspection consultant for school district and charter school boards of education and administrative leaders. Other duties include updating the web-based State Office of Education School Construction Inspection Resource Manual and USOE school facilities web site as needed, summarizing quarterly construction inspection reports and periodic unannounced spot compliance audits of random construction projects across the state. Regular full-time Building Official / Building Inspector
Millard County will be accepting applications for the position of regular full-time Building Official / Building Inspector. Must have a minimum of all residential ICC certifications and licensing through the Utah Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing. Unrestricted building inspector certification preferred. Preference will be given based upon education and experience. Millard County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications
Millard County will also receive and consider proposals for contract inspection services from qualified individuals or companies.

The City of Surprise seeks a qualified Building Inspections Supervisor with outstanding leadership, technical and interpersonal skills and the ability to handle fast growth. Incumbents will perform code inspection tasks and supervise staff.
