January 6, 2010
Starting a new year has always been exciting to me.
By the end of the previous year I’ve either had a really good year
or one that was not so good. Either scenario brings an excitement
with it. I am either ready to keep rolling or I am trying to figure
out how to do better, whether that means working on something
physically, spiritually, or mentally to better myself or my
environment. All of the possibilities bring excitement to the new
year and make me feel ready to get back out there and go to work.
All of us will begin the journey of a new year of which I think will
only get better.
This year also brings, once again, the challenge of
learning and implementing the changes in the soon to be adopted 2009
Code Books and the Utah State Amendments. However, I think through
attending the Beehive and Utah Chapter classes and the Beehive
Chapter monthly meetings can be helpful in learning about the codes
and all of the changes. I know, for me, that the association that I
have through our Chapter and getting to know and talk with others in
the code enforcement area has been very, very beneficial.
Please put on your schedule to attend our next
meeting and get to know others that deal with the same problems that
you may be experiencing. It will be held at the Orem City Offices on
Wednesday, January 20, 2010. Gary Hoglund will give a presentation
on Progressive Power Solutions, Solar Backup for Homes.
I hope everyone enjoyed a great Holiday Season and
wish each of you a GREAT New Year.
Cordially,
Dave Johnson
Beehive Chapter President
